You must produce receipt for your smokes, warns Cele
Police Minister Bheki Cele says officers have the right to question anyone found in possession of cigarettes under level 3 of the lockdown.
Cele briefed the media on the new set of lockdown regulations in Pretoria on Thursday.
The new regulations are set to kick in on Monday.

Cele said while being in possession of cigarettes is not a crime, the police have the right to ask where you bought them.
“Be prepared to tell the police where you bought your cigarettes and if you have evidence show it. And if you don’t tell us who sold it to you so we can visit that person so that we can ask that person why they are breaking the law, both the seller and the buyer.”
The selling of tobacco products remain banned under level 3 of the lockdown.
The ban will in all probability only be lifted when the country moves down to level 2 of the regulations.
