Wits Med School student quarantined over coronavirus fears

The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) has cancelled clinical activities scheduled for a student's class at its medical school on Friday, after a student has been placed in quaratine.
The student recently came into contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Wits spokesperson, Shirona Patel, says other classes continue as normal.
"The student is being monitored closely and has not displayed any symptoms of COVID-19. The student has been screened and the test results are expected later today.
"However, as a precautionary measure, the Faculty has cancelled the clinical activities scheduled for the student's class today," says Patel.
South Africa currently has 16 coronavirus cases.
