No hospital visits during lockdown - Gauteng Health
The Gauteng Department of Health has cancelled all visiting hours at public hospitals for the duration of the national lockdown.
The department’s spokesperson Kwara Kekana says community members continue to visit hospitals in numbers, despite the fact that the country is in lockdown.
Hospitals will also only attend to patients in case of an emergency.
“The only patients that will be allowed at hospitals during this period are those who present with an emergency, surgical out-patients, pregnant women and medical out-patients who are booked for collecting medication.
“Discretion will be used for those collecting their results if an issue can wait kindly stay at home.”
All patients who enter hospitals will be screened for coronavirus.
“Everyone will be expected to be sanitised when entering our premises and everyone will be
screened for Covid-19,” says Kekana.
