SA's Covid-19 recovery rate increases further

The Covid-19 recovery rate has shown a further increase in the 24 hours leading up to Sunday night, and now stands at 74%.
The statement released by the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize also shows an increase of 3 740 new infections recorded by the department.
The total number of Covid-19 infections stands at 563 598, with 417 200 recoveries.
However, despite the number of recoveries the number of recorded deaths continues to increase.

A further 213 Covid-19 deaths were recorded, 64 from the Free State, 57 from the Eastern Cape, 39 from Gauteng, 30 from the Western Cape, 10 from Mpumalanga and 2 from the Northern Cape.
The cumulative number of deaths as a result of Covid-19 related illnesses now stands at 10 621.
