Covid-19 illness claims life of RTMC road safety head
Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says the coronavirus pandemic has robbed the department of one of its most talented people.
This after the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) announced that it has lost its National Head of Road Safety Lucky Mabasa a short battle with Covid-19.

Mbalula has described Mabasa as a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly to ensure the people’s safety on the roads.

“This Covid-19 pandemic continues to rob us of many talented men and women whose contribution to society will be hard to replicate.
"Mr Mabasa was a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly to ensure South Africans are safe on the roads. Many of his colleagues attest to his selfless work ethic and love for all people.
"As we continue to work to ensure our roads are safe his memory will live on. I send my sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” Mbalula said in a statement.
