Coronavirus in SA: Biggest daily jump in deaths
South Africa has seen 52 new Covid-19 deaths reported in a day, the highest 24-hour death toll yet.
The total of deaths now stands at 481.
In his daily statement released on Monday evening, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said 1 032 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded, which brings the national tally to 23 615 cases.
Mkhize added that 596 777 tests have been conducted so far across the country.
“We wish to express our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and thank the health care workers who treated these patients."
The Western Cape has the highest recorded deaths at 330.
