Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the recovery rate now stands at 52% with 13 451 people recorded as recoveries.
"We wish to express our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and thank the health care workers who treated these patients.
"The recoveries to date are 13 451 which translates to a recovery rate of 52%.”
Meanwhile, Mkhize told MPs that government has no plans to break down Covid-19 statistics along racial lines.
This after the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) questioned why government has not revealed the demographics for Covid-19 infections and deaths.
“We do recognise that the issue of inequality, poverty, unemployment and comorbidity and other infectious diseases, all of those are multiple factors that will affect people, particularly when it comes to those who are in overcrowded situations among which many black people are in this country,” Mkhize said.
