WATCH: ANC supporters storm venue to disrupt sitting

Scores of people wearing regalia of the ANC disrupted the inaugural sitting of the eThekwini council on Monday.
An unexplained power outage also occurred.
It's here where the leaders of council, including the Chief Whip, Speaker and Mayor are elected by councillors.

Counsellors within the venue were heard and seen screaming as they ran for cover when the supporters toppled chairs and tables inside the marquee situated at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.

The were initially camped outside the stadium patiently waiting for the voting to conclude. The dramatic sitting ended with no Mayor elected with the sitting set to continue on Tuesday morning. The ANC has lost its majority to govern eThekwini following the local government elections.
