Trendy PRIME Energy to be sold for R40 at Checkers

The trendy energy drink took social media by storm after numerous retailers were selling a 500ml bottle for more than R500.
PRIME, the new trendy sports drink, has set South African social media alight after the drink went on sale in the country at a ridiculous price.
According to numerous posts on social media, PRIME will cost South Africans more than R500 for a single 500ml bottle.

Local retailer, Checkers has now opted to put a stop to the “overpriced drink” as they will be selling it for only R40.

According to Business Tech, the sports drink will be available in selected Checkers stores in the Western Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal from Monday, 1 May 2023.
It will roll out to the rest of South Africa during the month, the group said.
Checkers also announced that it is the official partner of PRIME Energy in South Africa.
Despite the outrageous price, the trendy drink has sold out in stores across the world.

In January 2022, YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI launched the drinks company Prime Hydration, prompting the drink’s popularity.
Due to its association with Paul, the drink has become very popular with teens across the world.
