South African chef's picture causes uproar on Instagram
The South African chef's food is loved by all, but his picture of a chicken head left a bad taste in their mouth.
Michelin star chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen is loved among South Africans because of his internationally-acclaimed dishes with a South African twist.
Van der Westhuizen has a restaurant in the heart of Nice, France where he serves his exquisite dishes.
However, the chef came under fire recently when he posted to his almost 40,000 followers on Instagram.

Instagram did not like Jan sharing a picture of a chicken’s head. The caption of Jan’s picture was ‘Heads up #JanTheJournal’.
Some Instagram users commented 'Hoekom sal jy hierdie post?’ and ‘Not nice’.
Instagram blurred it out and deemed the picture as ‘sensitive content’.
From a chef’s perspective, it should not shock anyone, but is it fair to post such a picture to the general public?
