Martin Bester and team weigh in on the elections
On Wednesday, South Africans had the opportunity to vote in the country's sixth democratic election. The Breakfast team shares their views.
South Africans turned up in numbers on 8 May to vote in the much-anticipated National and Provincial elections.
Voting stations opened at 7:00 am with about 26.8 million voters registered to cast their ballots at 22,925 polling stations countrywide.

Martin Bester and the team also cast their vote and had to weigh in on their day off to vote.
According to Martin Bester, he stood in the queue for three hours. Liesl Laurie and Elma Smit only waited for a few minutes in Eldorado Park and Linden.
During the day, a lot of things happened on social media. The story that made headlines was Julius Malema's wife, Mantwa Matlala-Malema, who couldn't vote.
She was asked by IEC officials to remove her artificial nail in order to mark her thumb.
Liesl said that she also has artificial nails, but no IEC official told her to remove her nail.
