Johnny Clegg is a true South African legend, so we are excited to pay tribute to him.
His career has spanned decades, and he has a place in the hearts of many South Africans and global citizens. Those hearts broke when Johnny Clegg announced that he was battling cancer.
His son, Jesse Clegg, says: “My father believed in the power of music.”

In this fitting tribute to one of the most iconic figures in South African music history, the Johnny Clegg Tribute Show is going digital, featuring some of South Africa’s top performers and never-seen-before footage from Johnny Clegg's life. This digital experience will be held on 31 July, from the comfort of your own home.

Jesse Clegg performed a stripped-down version of Johnny Clegg's 'Great Heart' on Breakfast with Martin Bester on 31 July, ahead of the tribute concert.
The Tribute concert will feature some incredible artists and is dedicated to an important cause.
