Selena Gomez has been dethroned as the most followed person on Instagram.
Soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo is officially in the top spot on the social media platform with 144 320 746 Instagram followers.
Selena – who announced she would be taking a break from social media in September – holds the second position with 144 312 745 Instagram followers.
Shortly thereafter, Selena checked into a mental health facility to help deal with her ongoing anxiety and depression.
The singer has held the title since 2016, when she took over from fellow musician Taylor Swift – who currently has over 112 million followers.
