LISTEN: “On Monday something must give” says Malema ahead of national shutdown
EFF leader Julius Malema has warned Police Minister Bheki Cele and President Cyril Ramaphosa that “on Monday something must give,” as the party prepares for its planned national shutdown.
Malema addressed EFF members in Soweto on Friday evening in what the party said would be his final comments before preparations would start.
“On Monday something must give, it is either us or them. They will decide what they want to do, we are not scared of them. Whether death is calling, death will find us ready, whether prison is calling, prison will find us ready, whether torture is coming, torture will find us ready. Do what you want to do on Monday, Bheki Cele and Ramaphosa, something will give in.”

Meanwhile, the country’s security cluster has beefed up its defense ahead of the protest on Monday, with planned strategies including the deployment of the the South African Defence Force (SANDF) to guard the country’s national key points.
Some of the demands by the EFF include an end to loadshedding and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa following the Phala-Phala robbery saga.
